Especially Jewelry, established in 1995 as a personal (appointment only) jewelry service, was the creative vision of owners Del and Julie Cook. In 1998, the retail store opened in Independence in the Fountain Plaza Center, 2400 Lee’s Summit Road, between Edra’s Hair Studio and Phil Burress’ State Farm Agency.
"The beautiful boutique atmosphere provides an intimate setting to select gifts for life’s special occasions. Each diamond and every piece of jewelry at Especially Jewelry is hand selected for beauty, quality and value. Anytime a true comparison is made, we are able to offer the area’s most reasonable pricing, with brands and designs found in the very finest guild jewelry stores." exlains Del.
Ideal cut diamonds, engagement/anniversary rings, custom gemstone jewelry, gold, and fashion jewelry comprise the constantly refreshed assortment. All jewelry repairs are performed within the store. Sweet treats and cold drinks are always available, as well as toys for children to enjoy while Mom or Dad is shopping.
"The staff and our customers are literally like family. This is a store that loves people! We are passionate about serving people from all walks of life. We know hundreds by name, and they encourage their friends to come to us - this business is still growing due to their loyal support", says Julie. |

The growing customer base of Especially Jewelry is served by one of the most knowledgeable staffs in the area. In addition to the owners experience, (37 combined years in fine jewelry sales and management), Craig Zellers, Gemologist, offers a wealth of gemological knowledge, and over 30 years experience. Brenda Cline (former owner of Diessl Jewelers), a true community ambassador, also has 30 years of experience in fine jewelry.
Especially Jewelry is a member of Jewelers of America (JA), and the Independent Jewelers Organization (IJO), the world’s largest buying group. These elite memberships avail the store to outstanding merchandise, overseas diamond buying (direct from the cutters), and extensive training each year. Especially Jewelry holds to the highest ethical standards; truthful pricing, and no pressure tactics or gimmicks.
"Although the diamonds are beautiful and the prices amazingly affordable, it is the community rapport and the relationships with people that are the real treasures." says Brenda Cline. |
